Sydney

Sydney is located on the south east coast of Australia, on the Tasman Sea. Sydney was the site where the British set up their first colony in the country.

Tourism is one of the most important aspects of the economy in the city. Some of the better-known attractions in the city include the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Furthermore, you will find other features like the Luna Park, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Sydney Tower, and obviously, the most fabulous beaches in the world.

When visiting Sydney, the Sydney Harbour Bridge offers you the opportunity to climb it. This is a unique experience that every visitor to Sydney should think about taking part in. Climbers are secured to the bridge with a lifeline wire. Climbs take place all day and are only cancelled during lightning storms. There are night climbs available as well. The bridge climb takes three and a half hours to complete.

The city of Sydney has much to offer all those who visit. The area known as The Rocks has a historic area and a tourist precinct. The area is located on the southern shore of the Sydney Harbour and is next to the city centre. There are many craft and souvenir shops and several historical pubs. Each weekend the Rocks Market is opened with approximately 100 stalls. Additionally, there are plenty of walks in the area that visit some of the historic buildings in the city such as Sydney Observatory, Cadman’s Cottage, and Dawes Point Battery.

The beaches in Sydney offer a great way to spend a relaxing day. Bondi Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the area. The beach offers restaurants, hotels, popular cafes as well as some of the finest views of the surrounding headlands.

The city offers public transportation, but there are also plenty of tours from which to choose that will give you the option of visiting some of the greatest attractions that the city has to offer. Car hire in Sydney Airport is a rather popular way to get around as the roads are often quiet.
