What is the best airport to fly into in Beijing?

It all depends on individual preferences like distance to the city centre, transport fares, flight fares, accommodation and many more. But generally, in terms of close proximity to the city centre, Beijing Nanyuan Airport is the best airport to fly into when travelling to Beijing. It could be a business trip, vacation, study trip or with family and friends. The airport has good public transport such as airport shuttle buses that serve travellers to central Beijing. It is very comfortable for people with plenty of luggage and/or young children. Nanyuan Airport is the oldest airport in China and serves as a secondary hub for domestic travel in Beijing and also a military airbase. This means, it gets less human traffic, queues and flight delays compared to PEK. China United Airlines is the only airline that serves this airport with a limited number of destinations to fly. The airport also has transport links to the Great Wall of China.

Beijing Capital International Airport(PEK) is the primary hub in Beijing, it handles both short haul and long haul flights within China and across the globe. PEK is served by many top airlines such as Air Canada, British Airways, Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and many more. So if you are a traveller who prefers flying with top flag airlines then this is the airport to fly into Beijing. It is served by its own train station directly to central Beijing and its environs, and also including buses. But this is a farther airport compared to Beijing Nanyuan which is not very far and smaller with less facilities. Transportation from this airport to the city centre is very comfy and very long as well. The airport has 3 terminals for domestic and international travel as against Nanyuan airport which has two but uses only one for domestic flights. Getting around the airport is entirely another hassle on its own not forgetting the larger crowds at the airport with more queues and flight delays.

Is Beijing Nanyuan airport better than PEK?

Nanyuan airport is a better airport than PEK based on the fact it is very close to Beijing with shorter journey times from the airport to central Beijing. Beijing Nanyuan has 2 terminals but use just one terminal for domestic flights against PEK's 3big terminals. Nanyuan is served by a single airline with limited destinations which then means fewer flight delays, crowds and queues at the airport than when compared to PEK which sees more crowds with exhausting queues.Business travellers, students, adventurers and many other who want to fly on a low budget will most likely prefer to use Beijing Nanyuan Airport which is closer to the city centre with less road travel time.
