Rome Ciampino Airport vs Fiumicino Airport

Overview of Rome Airports

We summarise here all you need to know about Rome's two airports - Fiumicino and Ciampino.

Unusually for a European city, the more budget focussed Ciampino airport is located closer to the city. It is very easy to reach by subway, train or bus. The major Fiumicino airport is further from the city, but well connected by regional train.

Fiumicino Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. It has a modern and spacious design and offers more comfort and facilities than the Ciampino Airport.   But flight fares and hotels are more expensive and it takes more time to reach the city center.
