Overview

    On a thin peninsula, small white houses crowd the edge of the water. Opposite, wonderful beaches of blond sand. A Turkish fort, a marine cemetery… Mahdia has a unique charm!
    To enter the medina, We go under a long narrow porch - the Skifa Kahla -, a vestige of an ancient medieval citadel ... Then stroll through the old town with white houses and green doors.
    With a little curiosity, you will find one of the weaving workshops where magnificent silk and gold or silver thread fabrics are made.
    At the tip of the peninsula, next to the old marine cemetery, a magnificent panorama awaits you from the terraces of the Turkish fort.
    Other historic places will punctuate your visit. Former Phoenician port, the site hosted in the 10th century the first capital of a Muslim dynasty promised to a great destiny, that of the Fatimids.
    If you like the atmosphere of fishing ports, do not miss that of Mahdia: it is one of the largest in Tunisia. All around, excellent fish restaurants await you!
