2-hour tour In Mark Aurel's footsteps in Vienna

Duration

clock2 hours

Overview

Travel back over 2000 years with me and find out more about Vienna's ancient heritage!
Thanks to my training as a tour guide and ancient historian, I can not only tell you stories from the Habsburg era, but also show you special details from Vienna's distant past: a lot is hidden in the inner city of Vienna and only recognizable if you know that it is there. We stroll through the ancient Vindobona legionary camp, see the dimensions of the camp, find out what Emperor Mark Aurel was up to in Vienna and what St. Stephen's Cathedral has to do with antiquity!

We'll also take a look inside a somewhat lesser-known museum gem to marvel at the treasures of the past:
Before the one-hour city tour, we take a look at the papyrus museum of the Austrian National Library: it belongs to the second largest papyrus collection in the world!
I look forward to showing you how exciting antiquity can be in Austria too!
