    Celebrated on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month, the Lantern Festival traditionally marks the end of the Chinese New Year Spring Festival period-(always between February 5 and March 7). It's Friday, February 26th in 2021.
    Zhangjiajie held a Grand and significant lantern festival every year. More than 300,000 locals and tourists took part in the carnival, and 3,000 performers from more than 5 groups for folk cultural and arts showed their interesting performances during the festival.
    Lantern Festival customs and activities vary regionally including lighting and enjoying (floating, fixed, held, and flying) lanterns, appreciating the bright full moon, setting off fireworks, guessing riddles written on lanterns, eating tangyuan, lion dances, dragon dances, and walking on stilts.The most important and prevalent customs are enjoying lanterns, guessing lantern riddles, eating tangyuan, and lion dances.
