‘A day in Agra’ is another tour from Invato’s series of ‘A day in the City’ tours offering similar experiences with regards to local cuisine, culture, history, lifestyle & markets. This tour offers many things beyond Taj Mahal in Agra, covering around 12 prominent places of interest in Agra.
Agra was once a capital of Mugahl Empire and entire city is an archive of glorious yesteryear of the kingdom. Every corner of the city has a history and
has been significant mark on the current city.
The tour starts in the morning with pick up from your hotel and directly heading to the Taj Mahal. It is deliberately in
the morning as this is the only time when Taj is least crowded and gives ample of space for clicking beautiful memories. Taj at the time of sunrise is
sparkling beauty appearing bit pinkish in shade. Your host for the day would unfold many legendary stories around the construction of the monuments along with the history of the Royal family.
After ticking off the Taj Mahal from your bucket list, the guests will be headed to other wonders of the Mughal architecture which is mixture
of the Persian & Indian style most of them made from Red stone and white marble; The Red Fort, Jama Mosque, Mehtab Bagh, Itmad-ud-Daula, Akbar’s Tomb and pearl mosque; Each monument showcasing a distinctive feature in designs & stone carvings.
Next in line is the Kinari Bazaar -the market which is around for the centuries developed from the old school India markets where locals have been shopping from the ages. The market is famous for traditional attire, fashion accessories, souvenirs, footwear, local sweets & many more stuff. If you do like anything in the market, we recommend bargain or ask your host to assist you with this.
We break for lunch in the shortlisted hotels meeting the taste buds of all our guests.
We head towards another significant monument - Dayal Bagh Mandir, which has been under construction for more than a century
and is yet to be completed; your host will share the myths & legends behind the delays.
Once your day is completed exploring the beautiful historic city of Agra, the guests will be escorted to a roof top restaurant; Tea’se Me café,
which is famous for its Teas & sheesha which includes relaxing tea tasting session.
After a long day, the tour ends and the guests are dropped back to their centrally located hotels.
