Agia Triada and Gouverneto Monasteries are located in the Akrotiri area, 15km north of Chania, with only 4km distance between them. We will marvel the spectacular architecture and structure that once hosted a large monastic community, as well as the marvelous artifacts, woodcrafts and paintings!
Next step is visit the beautiful Stavros Beach, located 10 km from the Monasteries on the northern tip of the Akrotiri Cape. We will spend most of our time there. This is where legendary movie “Zorbas The Greek” with Holywood Star Antony Queen was filmed. You can take a swim on its deep vivid blue shallow waters and have lunch!
In the end we will head to the beautiful park of Venizelos Graves. From there you can admire the amazing panoramic view of the town of Chania!
An alternative is to walk the path towards the deserted Monastery of Katholiko and view the old sketes consisted of chapels and caves, the hermitages for the early Christian monks since the 4th century!
