Overview

    Depart to North the ruins of Jerash, one of the Middle East's best examples of a Greco-Roman provincial city. At the entrance of the site, admire Hadrian's Arch, built in 129 AD to mark Emperor Hadrian's visit, and the Hippodrome, a partially restored Roman-era stadium. Once inside, accompanied by a private, local guide, wander the colonnaded streets and discover its most important monuments: Temples, Theaters, Baths, Oval Plaza, along with several Byzantine churches dating from the Christian era. Return to Amman.

What to Expect

    The Amman city tour begins at Amman citadel –also known as Jebel AlQalaea- the most famous and well-known spot of the city, The Citadel is one of seven mounts that occupy the capital city of Amman which has many parts dating back to the B.C. periods, besides temple of great Hercules, Ayyubaid watching tower, and the great hand statue. Next, you will visit the circle-half-shaped Roman theatre which dates back to ancient Roman times and was used to be used for concerts and musical shows. Theatre is up to 6000 people and is still used today for the same purpose. After that, we will visit the Archeological Museum which houses ancient valuable objects and artifacts from ancient eras. Finally, we will shop some of the traditional bazaars of the city. Leave to the north on the ruins of Jerash, one of the best examples in the Middle East of a Greek-Roman regional city. At the entrance to the site, enjoy Hadrian's arch, built in 129 AD to celebrate the visit of Emperor Hadrian, back to Amman.
