Art meets architecture - redefinition

Duration

clock2 hours 30 minutes

Overview

The extremely ornate District Court Wedding is said to have served as a model of Albrechtsburg in Meissen. The five-storey building adjoins the Panke with its large area. Not far away stands a church, built by Prussia's most famous master builder Karl Friedrich Schinkel, on which we pass on the way to the former Luisenbad. Today, the building serves a different purpose because it has been converted into a library. The cultural venue "Uferhallen" is yet another example of how history and art meet, interact and define each other. In the former bus central workshop of the BVG (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe) we visit an artist's studio and thus end our tour at the "place of origin of the art".
