The tour begins with hotel pick-up and departure towards Caltagirone, home to many craftsmen and capital of Sicilian ceramics.
Here a master ceramist will give us a demonstration of the processing of ceramics, to then continue with a walk in the city center with a visit to the Church of Santa Maria del Monte and the homonymous staircase, consisting of 142 steps, decorated with ceramic tiles, built to join the lower part with the upper part of the city.
Other stops will be the Cathedral of San Giuliano and the regional ceramic museum. After a stop for a typical lunch, we will continue towards Piazza Armerina, famous for the Villa Romana del Casale.
The Villa, dating back to the 4th century. d. C., is a magnificent rural residence, whose charm is mainly due to the enchanting mosaics, considered the most beautiful and best preserved of their kind, which made the Villa included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
