Casco Antiguo is where the new City of Panama was founded in 1673, only 8 Kms West from where the first city was left in ruins by structure fires set at the hands of the Spanish colonials themselves in an effort to save the strategic position crucial for World Trade since it's discovery, avoiding the collapse of the Spanish Empire there and then, to the British Lord commanding the "Rogue" attack in 1671: Captain Henry Morgan who was being financed by the Governor of Jamaica.
Both are World Heritage Sites as per UNESCO.
