Oak Mountain Winery is no stranger to growth in their tasting room. The wineries original tasting room was tucked away at their vineyard estate. Yet the public craved more. In 2005 at the demand for more wine and a convenient location, Oak Mountain Winery opened a tasting room just off of the De Portola Wine Trail. However, thanks to their loyal customers and expanding fan base, the winery began to grow out of this space as well. Yet, rather than expanding out, they will be expanding IN. In to the ground that is, with Temecula's first subterranean wine caves!
The caves allow the wine-makers to better utilize the land, as the vineyards will continue to grow above the cave construction. Wine caves also naturally create the ideal conditions for aging.
Using geothermal technology, cave temperatures and humidity stay in a range best suited to this process.
Even more incredibly, the caves won't just be ideal for barrel aging, but also for your special events.
