Overview

    Fascinating historic walk in lead.
My story is about Leiden at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century. A city with unimaginable courage, vision and ambition. We follow in the footsteps of Rembrandt. I tell about the unfortunate Cornelis Vinckestein, who was hung on the gallows in the grief near the Gravensteen. We follow the pilgrims who arrived at the old waag on 1 May 1609 on the flight of religious persecution and who had to find a way in a city that had been turned into a human warehouse. We meet the first feminist in the Netherlands, Countess Aleid van Kleef and we hear and admire the famous city secretary Jan van Hout, who has been immortalized with his poems at the famous city hall of Leiden. This and much more on a challenging, private walk against the backdrop of historic Leiden.
