There are many landmarks & buildings to discover across the city, elegant squares to sit & watch the world go by. As well as history Avignon has a lively, modern feel with shops, bars, restaurants. The visit is a mix of it all including the renowned market hall. Finally, Pont Saint-Bénézet one of Avignon’s most iconic sites - the bridge, much was washed away in the 17th century, is a nod to the history of the city

    Highlights: Wander & discover the old town of Avignon. Visit the gardens Palais des Papes overlooking the town with guided visit of Palais des Papes. Enjoy elegant surroundings of the towns squares, historic buildings,panoramic views. Visit the Pont Saint Bénézet - the famous Pont d’Avignon. Experience the bustling vibe of a busy local indoor food market (only available on morning tours - closed from 2pm)

What to Expect

    Full Day Private Tour - from the river cruise pier Avignon to the Rhône valley wine region & visits to two Châteauneuf du Pape vineyards An exceptional morning visiting the Rhône valley wine region of Châteauneuf du Pape with visits to two exceptional winemakers with tasting of their exception red & white wines. A short stop for lunch before driving back to Avignon. Visit to the iconic sights of Avignon, an historic city best known for being the location the Popes fled to after leaving Rome in the 14th century. The impressive Palais des Papes – one of the Avignon's best known sites is on our list. There are so many landmark buildings to discover across the city, gorgeous squares to sit back and watch the world go by. As well as all the history it also has a lively, modern feel with lots of great shops, bars and restaurants and finishing up in a cafe opposite the Pope's former Palace before heading back to the river cruise pier to rejoin the boat.
