Overview

    Departure toward Peninsula Valdes, UNESCO World Heritage Site, a privileged wildlife sanctuary. We drive along the Isthmus Carlos Ameghino, a narrow strip of land connecting the peninsula to the continent, from where the Gulfs Nuevo and San Jose can be observed simultaneously. The -rst stop is the Visitor Centre, an introduction to the local fora and fauna. Then we drive to Caleta Valdes, a large inlet home to Southern elephant seals. We continue to the picturesque little town Puerto Piramides to do a City Tour and visit Punta Piramide, a stunning sea-lion rookery. Finally, we drive back to the pier. We may observe Patagonian cavies, guanacos and rhea along the way.

What to Expect

    The first stop is the Visitor Center, an introduction to the local forums and wildlife. We will then head to Caleta Valdés, a large cove that is home to southern elephant seals. We continue to the small and picturesque town of Puerto Pirámides to take a City Tour and visit Punta Pirámide, an impressive colony of sea lions. Finally, we returned to the dock. Along the way we will be able to see maras, guanacos and rheas. As long as the time allows, upon returning from the reserve we will give you a city tour of Puerto Madryn before dropping you off at the dock exit. TIMING 00:00/01:00 Transfer to Península Valdes. 01:00/01:30 Arrival/Stop Visitor Center. (RESTROOMS) 01:30/03:00 Transfer to Caleta Valdes. 03:00/03:45 Enjoy Caleta Valdes – Observation of Elephant Seals (RESTROOMS) 03:45/04:45 Transfer to Puerto Pirámides. 04:45/05:15 City Tour in Puerto Pirámides. 05:15/06:00 Punta Pirámides reserve – Observation of Sea Lions (RESTROOMS) 06:00/07:30 Transfer to pier.
