We are 3-4 hours from downtown La Paz. At the foot of the imposing snow-capped summit of Illampú, Sorata is also known as "Earthly Paradise" by writers, explorers and scientists and by local people and by travelers who visit it with love. There are many such Andean legends about Sorata since it is a magical place. It has a very special concentration of Andean cosmic energy.
