    Take in the breathtaking views of the Irish riverscape - lush meadows teeming with wildflowers in the spring or stunning monastic sites in autumn - during this unique experience in the Irish countryside!

    Meet your host Mary and her husband Jorn at their charming boathouse that traverses the Shannon river. In the summer, you can dock the boat at Carrick-on-Shannon in County Leitrim. Watch the beautiful Irish countryside go by as you sip on a welcome drink and hear stories from your host about life on an Irish barge.

    You will then join your hosts at their dining table to enjoy a Mediterranean influenced home-cooked Irish meal. Your 4-course meal may include dishes such as local smoked salmon for an appetizer, fresh soup or salad and slow roasted pork belly or lamb accompanied with seasonal vegetables like roasted grapes and figs as your main. Your meal will conclude with a dessert of pavlova, lemon cake or the traditional Bailey’s Irish cream cheesecake.

What to Expect

    TamiJoy learned to cook from her grandmother, who taught her the basics of home cooking. And over the years, she developed her own bespoke methods using only the finest, locally sourced ingredients, including her own organically grown vegetables and fruits. Start your experience with a farm tour - tour the gardens and polytunnel, where organic vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers are grown using seaweed as the fertilizer, a long-held custom of the area. Later join TamiJoy in her stunning open kitchen that has breath-taking views of the sea, for your cooking class. Learn to cook an appetizer or dessert plus a main dish, in your two-hour class. • Private Irish cooking lesson in a family stone cottage by the sea, surrounded by acres of farmland • Cook using the freshest ingredients picked from the farm • Farm to table experience, share a home-cooked Irish meal with a local family in Galway • Introduction to Irish cuisine, culture and culinary traditions • Vegetarian options available
