Erice & Segesta - From Palermo

Duration

clock8 hours

Overview

Escorted by a private driver, you will embark on a scenic trip that will take you to the hilltop hamlet of Erice and the archeological park of Segesta, two jewels on the western side of the island. In the gorgeous medieval village of Erice a maze of picturesque cobbled streets lined with the famous local pastry shops lead to the 14th-century Chiesa Matrice, preserving valuable marble statues, and the Norman castle with sweeping views over the coast. The visit to Segesta, on the other hand, will be a deep dive into ancient times. The town was founded by descendants of the Trojans and is home to a well preserved Greek temple and theatre dating back to the 5th century BC. A local guide will walk you through the remains to fully breath the fascinating history surrounding this site.
