Overview

    Explore Mount Etna on tour from Catania! You will be introduced to the landscapes and geology of the Volcano from our naturalistic and passionate guide.

    Following a hiking route up to 2000 meters, you will have the chance to admire forests, craters, lava formations, and scenic views of the mountain. Snowshoes are provided during the winter season.

    You will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided from us (helmets and torches).

    At lunchtime we will stop in a nice local Winery. You will have lunch with a rustic appetizer, a first course of typical pasta, tasting three Sicilian DOC wines.

    During the afternoon we will move to Zafferana Etnea for the visit of a local farm to taste genuine products (honey, creams, marmalades).

    The tour will be in English and Italian. Upon request also in French or Spanish.

What to Expect

    Our tour leader will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Catania or from an agreed meeting point, to take you aboard one of our 8-seater vehicles. Your guide will lead you to discover the beautiful city of Zafferana Etnea, repeatedly touched by the lava of Etna and which has become the Sicilian capital of honey.After that, at about 11.00/11.30 AM you will get to the first winery, where you will start with the Etna Wine tasting; also, you will have an aperitif based on local products. Next, during a walk through the vineyards, you will learn about their production. So you will visit the second winery, where you will enjoy a full lunch with fresh and local products. An appetizer (cheeses, salami, olives, fresh bread and so on), a first dish and a second, all combined with 3 Etna Doc wines (one white and two reds). After lunch you will visit the vineyards, so you can explore the interesting world of the natural wine.
