Escape the crowds and enjoy the beauty of the region from Lakeside Station, where you will travel to Gembrook and pass through the stunning views of Wright Forest and rich open farmland, spot the fauna and farm animals and wave to every passer-by along the way (Approx. 40 minutes). This journey begins from Lakeside Station located in Emerald Lake Park with a large carpark for ease of access.
Be sure to get there a little earlier and explore Emerald Lake Park’s attractions, including the picturesque Emerald Lake with paddle boats and the Model Railway with its 2000 metres of interactive miniature railway track.
Once you arrive at Gembrook Station, enjoy the next hour of this small charming town with lunch at the local bakery or pack a picnic of your own to have at JAC Russell Park. After lunch, take a stroll along the rail trail and discover the boutique and antique stores scattered along the main strip, before grabbing a sweet treat from Mr. Sherbets for the ride back to Lakeside.
