    Start your day by discovering Arles with an audioguided photo rally on the footsteps of Van Gogh. Our A La Française guides created an original tour just for you! Then, you will be heading in the Alpilles area, know for its olive cultivation where the garrigue prevails on its limestone hills. In summer, during the blooming season, don't miss the opportunity to stop and admire the sunflower fields Van Gogh cherished. Explore the hilltop village of Les Baux de Provence while answering the riddles of our paper chase. Enjoy the medieval alleys, the exceptionnal panorama on the Alpilles and the massive limestone rocks shining under the beautiful provençal sun. Your route will finally lead you to the charming city of Saint Rémy de Provence where you will visit Saint Paul de Mausole, an old care home in which Van Gogh stayed and painted many works at the end of his life.

What to Expect

    With your guide, discover the rich, historical centre of Avignon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings and the Rhône River, Pont d'Avignon by walking up to the top of the fortified city walls and Rochers des Doms. Visit the largest gothic-style Popes’ Palace whereby successive popes resided between 1309 and 1377. Continue on to the Place de l'Horloge, the Town Hall and the Theatre. Enjoy a glass of Côtes du Rhône wine served in a place close to the palace. (operated only in english). Scenic drive through the vineyard of Châteauneuf du Pape followed by wine-tastings at 2 different wineries. From the ruins of the Pope's summer residence, enjoy a panoramic view over the Rhône river valley and the hill ranges surrounding the village. •NB : participants will be required to walk on cobblestone streets and climb many flights of steps during the tour. Therefore, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Lunch on your own in Avignon
