Stop At: Abydos, Al Balyana, Sohag Egypt

We will pick you up and commence an expedition to visit the Abydos temple which features some of the finest examples of carved reliefs from Dynasty 19 (of King Seti I and his son Ramses II). The eighth Upper Egyptian nome (called Abdju) was traditionally regarded as the burial place of Osiris; important religious ceremonies were held there to commemorate his death and rebirth in the afterlife. The temple of Seti I and his son is elegantly decorated with unique preservation, being one of the masterpieces of Egyptian art and architecture.

Stop At: Dendera Temple Complex, Dendera Egypt

We will then proceed to the beautiful Temple of Goddess Hathor at Dendera (the sixth ancient Upper Egyptian town), Goddess of Music and Love. Witnessing well-preserved colorful scenes depicted on its walls and ceilings including a depiction of sky goddess Nut. The roof is a treasure that must be visited - it has stairs that spiral upward which are said to be same steps used by ancient Egyptian priests during New Year festivals. Moreover, one sanctuary's ceiling displays beautifully carved oval zodiacs. After exploring this remarkable ancient Egyptian Civilization, we will escort you back in our air conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Luxor.
