Overview

Bidar was the capital of Bahamani Kingdom which was the first independent Islamic kingdom of South India. It is located about 140 Kms from Hyderabad which takes around 3.5 hours drive. It has a fort built by the Bahamani Kings when they shifted their capital from Gulbarga to here and 15th Century Madarasa built in the lines of Madrasas of Persia, Tombs of Early Islamic Kings of South India with beautiful glazed tiles and calligraphy. Bidar is also equally famous for an inlay art called as Bidri. By this tour you can see the most beautiful part of medieval time period with experienced licensed tour guides to enter and to explain in all the monuments. You have special access to some inner palaces of the fort also. This is a day excursion tour from Hyderabad to see the beautiful country side and local life outside of Hyderabad. You also visit artisans who make Bidri Craft from Bidar. This is the only place in India where this art form developed from 15th Century and exists even today.
