Overview
A representative of Visitors Egypt Tour will collect you from your Cairo hotel and take you on an amazing day trip to Alexandria. You will start by visiting the Pompay's Pillar, which was erected to honour Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. This remarkable structure, originally part of a temple dedicated to Serapis, was once comparable in grandeur to the Soma and Caesarean. Then, we will move on to explore the Catacombs -the biggest Roman graveyard composed of three levels carved out of rock. After lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria, we shall visit Qaitbay Citadel -built upon the site formerly occupied by Pharaohs' lighthouse- followed by Bibliotheca Alexandrina before returning back to your hotel in Cairo.
