Duration

clock10 hours

Overview

Portillo is the oldest ski center in South America and near this is the mythical "Laguna del Inca", a beautiful lagoon with emerald waters (name given according to the Inca legend), offering a wonderful and particular landscape for all those who visit

We will begin a wonderful journey through the Intermediate Depression of our country, which is crowned by the majesty of the Andes Mountains. We will arrive at the Chacabuco Monument, where one of the battles for the Independence of Chile took place (1817). Then, we will cross a tunnel that serves as a regional limit, to find the beautiful view of Mount Aconcagua (the highest in the southern hemisphere). Later, we will meet the old Trasandino Railroad line.

Upon arriving in Portillo (headquarters of the World Ski Championship in 1966), we will see how the man built some sheds to prevent the avalanches that occur in the winter season.
