Group excursion to Essaouira

Duration

clock14 hours

Overview

Essaouira is sea, colors, fresh fish, music and shopping. If the small lively Medina is its soul (it is the oldest part of the city, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001), the port is the Essaouira lung. Hundreds of boats return to the harbor every afternoon and between 3pm and 5pm the dock comes alive with the voices of the fish market.

In the 18th century it was a commercial enclave on the road between Timbuktu and Europe, and a hippie colony in the 60s and 70s. Music is everywhere in Essaouira. Today the area is a surf center on the Atlantic coast.

Our trip is a perfect moment of relaxation from the chaos of Marrakech: the town is quiet and should be enjoyed with comfort, perhaps in front of a hearty grilled fish in the stalls of local fishermen. Or with an aperitif, in a lounge bar on the beach, at sunset, while some rider gallops by the sea.

Along the way we will stop to see the argan trees and their famous fruit that gives us its precious oil.
