Overview

    A cycling cultural tour of Orlando West in Soweto, where political Icons lived during Apartheid fighting against the regime. Sharing stories about different family generations, how apartheid had an impact in everyone, and how Soweto has changed today.
    The cycling tour will start in Orlando West. talk first about how this township was formed and share the history of these neighbourhoods. We ride to Mzimhlophe and visit the only former women’s hostel, We continue to Mama Lillian Mgoyi's home, an anti-apartheid activist, then cycle to Hector Pietersen Museum where the Soweto uprising transpired which was one of the turning point of apartheid. You will then be introduced to the house of Nelson Mandela, where he lived before his imprisonment for 27 years. We also show you Arch bishop Desmond Tutu's house in the popular Vilakazi Street, and talk about his influence in the down fall of Apartheid.
    LUNCH! taste the delicious local burger called "Kota" before cycling back to our starting point.
