Half-day east coast hike in Ischia island with pick-up

Overview

This stunning hiking route takes us to a picturesque area in the east of Ischia. We start our journey from Barano center and traverse through traditional villages, an ancient pilgrimage church, orchards, vineyards and rugged cliffs. Along the way we will be presented with breathtaking views of Vesuvius, the sea and Capri. Partially encircling a 2,000 year old volcano, we can also spot shallow depths in the sea near these cliffs that signify another submerged volcano. Lightweight pumice stones create sloping rock faces on these cliffs, which today tell stories about this region's volcanic past. Old terrace gardens still used for cultivating wine and vegetables are also found here; allowing us to take respite at a farmhouse offering panoramic vistas of Vesuvius before finally reaching our destination at Campagnano village square.
