In 2008, after spending a long time looking for the best land for their vineyards, the Planeta family stopped on the northern slope of Etna, next to the lava flows and the woods that surround Passopisciaro.
The estate is spread south and north of the village. To the north, in the middle of the beautiful vineyards of Sciara Nuova, they restored some fascinating old buildings, which now represent Planeta's hospitality heart.
To the south, the winery Feudo di Mezzo was built, just at the center of a sixteenth-century lava flow. Nearby are also the vineyards of Torreguarino, Pietramarina and Montelaguardia: the ideal vines for their white wines.
The visit to the winery combines a guided tour and tasting of 4 different wines, throughout a journey to discover the varied Planeta production.
Each tasting ends with a selection of Extra Virgin Oils Dop "Val di Mazara Planeta".
If you wish, you can integrate the tasting buying more wines by the glass or wine bottles.
