Just a 40-minute train ride from Rossio train station to find yourself, in the words of Lord Byron, in the ‘glorious Garden of Eden’ and it is our aim during this half-day tour to show you why it deserves this name. We will guide you through the winding streets of the town, sampling golden pastries, enjoying breathtaking views along the way, and learning about Sintra’s history.
Once we are in the heart of the town, we will head to the main attraction- the fantastic and mythical Quinta da Regaleira, famous not just for its gorgeous manor house but for the labyrinth-like gardens weaved around it. You will descend into the open maw of the initiation well and navigate the powerful stone tunnels beneath, climb towers worthy of princesses and explore grottos of Greek mythology. You will leave our tour laden with knowledge of the freemasons and templar knights of Portugal.
