The entrance of the Pellumbas cave has a wooden platform, so it is easy to take a moment to soak in the area. The ancient cave bears used to live inside this cave 40,000 years ago. After this, it became a home for ancient humans dating back to the Middle Paleothic era (circa 30,000 years ago). During the First and Second World War, the cave was used as a hiding place for people from the surrounding villages. The cave portrays a long history and is nowadays an interesting and beautiful place to visit. Some people describe it is a once in a lifetime experience. It is also a spectacular hiking experience to the rock on the cave of Pellumbas. Near the Pellumbas cave, you can find the Erzeni canyon. The Erzeni river is 108 km long and the flowing water has created these spectacular canyons over the centuries. The canyon is a beautiful place to swim in, if the weather allows it, with crystal-clear water and surrounded by waterfalls and stunning rock formations.
