Your guide will meet you at your hotel at 8:15 and drive out to kåfjord and the parking at the base of Halde. We start our walk climbing along a forestry trail which slowly narrows to no more than the old horse and cart road towards the top. Once above the tree-line, the terrain flattens out into a valley leading us straight towards our goal with the spectacular view of Halde in front of us. The final push for the summit is a steep winding path finishing at the northern light observatory at the very top!
The climb to the top will take roughly 3 hours, although the fitness of the group will always have an influence on the time taken. A lunch of RealTurmat and some hot drinks while enjoying the spectacular view will have us full of energy again for the journey home.
While there are some steeper sections to this hike, it is achievable for all levels of hikers. Good hiking boots and windproof clothing for the summit are an absolute must in order to enjoy this experience to its full.
