Duration

clock3 to 4 hours

Overview

You'll learn about Korean food and culture with a local food expert, producer and fixer. The tour was designed by Daniel Lee Gray of Seoul Eats who has been featured on food shows such as Netflix's Street Food Asia, Anthony Bourdain's Part's Unknown, Unravel Travel, the Kimchi Chronicles, BBC, Migrationology and Bizarre Foods. You'll explore the local, hip Mangwon neighborhood by Hongik Arts University. This is a neighborhood that shows the clash between the young and old as pet cafes and bakeries are right next to rice beer stalls and traditional markets. You'll learn about change of the neighborhood while dining at a charcoal bbq restaurant, a rice beer and savory pancakes house, tour a traditional market and then try some stir-fried, marinated chicken (dakgalbi). Your guide will give you tips about what to do on the rest of your trip, give cultural tips and teach you some fun drinking games. It's a crash course on Korea and the food culture with dinner, drinks and snacks.
