The sleepy town of Groveland, CA located just outside Yosemite National Park was once (twice and even three times) a bustling metropolis of up to 20,000 people! Join us on a fun and historic guided walking tour that explores the town's booms and busts as well as the pioneers that shaped its legacy.
We'll meet at the Echo Adventure's Yosemite Basecamp and enjoy presentation and light snack before getting started! During our half-mile walk through town, we'll duck into other local shops, hotels, and restaurants along the way to see how they have transformed Groveland's wild west era mercantiles, brothels, and saloons. We'll end our journey at the 170-year-old Groveland Hotel with a quick nip at their Bourbon Bar & Taproom before we explore their historic wine cellar! You may even get to meet Lyle, gold miner and hotel guest since 1925 - umm, yeah, he's a ghost! We'll say goodbye with plenty of time that evening to enjoy shopping, dining or live music in downtown Groveland!
