What To Expect

. A Sun Pyramids Tours representative will pick you up from your hotel at 10:00am and transfer you to the Citadel of Salah El Din in Cairo, where you can visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque - famously known as the Alabaster Mosque due to its outer walls being covered by Alabaster Stone. This is followed by a trip to another notable mosque - the Al-Rifa’i Mosque, which stands opposite the 1361-built Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, part of a campaign by 19th century rulers of Egypt to honor earlier periods in Islamic history and modernize their city.

You will then be taken to visit one of Cairo's biggest mosques - El Sultan Hassan Mosque (aka Madrasa El Sultan Hassan), built by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D., designed for four Sunni schools of thought. After admiring this structure, you'll move on to Al-Azhar Mosque, also known as 'the mosque of the most resplendent', commissioned for Cairo's newly established capital city in 970 A.D., and said allude prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah; earning it the nickname “the City of a Thousand Minarets”.

Your day tour concludes with a visit to El Hussein Mosque - believed to be the burial site of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson - after which our guide will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo.
