    Present on the island since early Roman times, the Sicilian Jewish community was one of the most important in the Mediterranean area, with Siracusa being one of the major centers. This tour will explore the Jewish influence on Siracusa’s cultural heritage by taking you through the ancient Jewish quarter in Ortigia, home to the synagogue and the miqwè, Europe’s most ancient Jewish ritual bath. Other highlights of the Jewish presence in town include the Catacombs of San Giovanni and the crypt of S. Marciano. During the tour you will visit also the archaeological park Neapolis to admire the famous Greek theater and the famous Orecchio di Dioniso, an impressive cave shaped as a giant ear.
