Overview

    This cave was founded by Saraswati Nijanand swami Ji and is dedicated to Guru Gorakshnath. Alha Udals, one of the very famous spiritual guru meditated inside these caves followed by many other famous gurus. The name Jhilmil comes from Guru Jhilmila Ji who also lived one of these caves.

    A visit to a Himalayan natural cave nearby Rishikesh, where ancient Hindus used to go for the spiritual retreat and most famous Hindu monk who attained enlightenment in the very cave, Swami Jhilmil Ji, Apart from cave you will also visit architecturally very rich temple of Shiva, is known as Neelkanth Mahadev in the midst of mountains n the Neelkanth Mountains.

    And you get back to Rishikesh by hiking through the Rajaji National Park ( wildlife sanctuary ), en-route, visit Mouni Baba cave, where you get a chance to have an interaction with a Hindu Naga Sadhu, who lives in the cave since childhood.

What to Expect

    You'll begin your day early, at around 7 or 8 in the morning. You'll be picked up and transported to Neelkanth in a private vehicle. On the way there, you'll have the chance to see Patna waterfalls. Once you arrive at the temple, the driver will return to Rishikesh. From that point, you'll hike and trek through the National Park back to Rishikesh. You can get back to Rishikesh by hiking through the Rajaji National Park ( wildlife sanctuary ). En-route, you can visit the Mouni Baba cave, where you will get a chance to interact with a Hindu Naga Sadhu. The Naga Sadhu has been living in the cave since childhood and will be happy to answer any questions you have about the experience.
