Established due to the discovery of gold, Johannesburg offers up many historic buildings, and an underground site in a bank that was discovered and turned into a museum. Visit Museum Africa and also Constitutional Hill which served as a prison where Nelson Mandela, Ghandi and others were held. Drive through Houghton and see where Nelson Mandela lived.
