Kandy, the city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka.
Early morning (06.30am) you will pick up from your hotel and proceed to Peradeniya Botanical Garden. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.
Thereafter proceed to Kandy and enjoy the lunch at restaurant in Kandy.
After lunch explore the Kandy city and market place.
Thereafter visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.
