    Overview

Explore the West Bank of the Nile and take a journey to the awe-inspiring Valley of the Kings, an immense necropolis where 62 pharaohs laid to rest in grand tombs carved into desert rock. Admire their lavish decorations and buried artifacts intended for use in their afterlife. Stop at several of these sites before heading on to behold Queen Hatshepsut's Temple, an exquisite monument that rises from the flat sands in a series of terraces merging with nearby limestone cliffs. On your return trip, make sure to pause for a view of the renowned Colossi of Memnon – two 66ft statues crafted out of 1 thousand tons each which were once known by ancient Greeks as being capable of emitting mysterious voices pre-dawn. Though now damaged by time and tourists, they remain impressive sights.
Break for lunch onboard before continuing on to Karnak Temple – dubbed “the Temple of Temples” due to its vast size – for an afternoon visit. Finally, head back to your cruise vessel before reaching Luxor Temple at nightfall.
