Once there you hike up an medieval pilgrims route and enjoy the views of the alps as you get to the top. Alternatively you can take a bus. At the monastery itself you can explore the wonderful baroque church then relax in the bräustüberl/beer hall or the beautiful beer garden drinking the traditional beer and eating locally sourced food.
On the way down there is also an opportunity to cool off with a refreshing paddle or swim in the nearby lake Ammersee before coming home.
