Learn and Experience the Jomon Culture Unique to Japan! (With Admission Ticket)

Duration

clock1 hour

Overview

The Jomon culture, which has matured and flourished while adapting to the severe changes in the natural environment, is a unique Japanese culture that has lasted for more than 10,000 years, unlike another in the world. The Jomon Culture Center is where you can learn the life of the people living in the Jomon culture through the exhibits. This is the museum that permanently displays the only national treasure in Hokkaido, "Hollow Clay Figure," known by a nickname of "Kakku." The center also has the functions of a Roadside Station (rest area with shops selling local produce, snacks, souvenirs, etc.) It displays many unearthed relics such as stoneware and earthenware excavated from the remains from the Jomon period, centering on the Minami Kayabe Jomon Archaeological Site. This plan includes a visit to the Jomon Culture Center and the hands-on experience of the Jomon culture.
