Overview

    A 60-minute guided tour through America’s past, located on the Erie Canal, 25 minutes from Niagara Falls or Buffalo. Your guided walking tour takes you through the 2,100’ Hydraulic Race water tunnel blasted from solid rock in 1858, providing water-power to 3 manufacturing industries.

    Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will not be running our underground boat ride during the tour.

    Embark on one of America’s longest underground boat rides, described as both unique and mysterious, the ride is illuminated only by small, sporadically placed electric lights. View stalactites, flow stone, various geological formations and artifacts left behind in the underground by men who built the tunnel in the early days of the Erie Canal.During your tour you will explore the historic and newly rehabilitated “Flight of Five” Locks 67-71, constructed in 1838, Erie Barge Canal, Locks 34 & 35, you may get a glimpse of boats “Sailing Uphill”.
