Luxembourg - Excursion From Brussels

Duration

clock12 to 14 hours

Overview

This enchanting area is characterized by a wonderland of intoxicating vistas of lush green forested valleys, intriguing rock formations and tumbling waterfalls.

Many areas in the Old City are designed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites, such as the underground fortifications dating back to 1644 known as the Bock Casements. The popular Wenzel Walk in the Grund district is an intriguing walking tour in the old part of Luxembourg below the city on the banks of the Alzette River.

The city and fortifications are perched on top of a sandstone bluff with precipitous sides, skited by two rivers, the Alzette and the Pétrusse, which is spanned such as the famous Adolphe Bridge, built in bold, impressive style.

We couldn't leave the Grand Duchy without a stroll through the most delightfully picturesque sector in the area - Petite Suisse Luxembourgeoise. Little Switzerland is a hiker's paradise.
