Get to know Mérida, founded by the Spanish Francisco de Montejo on January 6, 1542, when in reality the Mayan Indians had a great city known as T’ho long before the Spanish arrived. The stones of this city were used to build the cathedral church located in the zócalo where it is also, the Montejo house, the government palace and the municipal palace.
Merida the white city with its main avenue Paseo de Montejo, which has its colonial buildings such as the Cantón Palace and the beautiful monument to the homeland, among other equally magnificent places.
