    The oral tradition tells that during a plague in colonial times, the Kaqchikel population took San Antonio de Padua as their patron, and together with the abundance of hot springs in the area they renamed their village as San Antonio Aguas Calientes. Nowadays, this is still a town that bases their economy in agriculture, it's full of culture, traditions and above all, unique and beautiful handmade textiles.
