    At the end of the Edo period about 200 years ago, Hakushin-ya was erected in Horyuji Temple Zenjuin by Horyuji Temple Monk Kokuken. According to Horyuji's records, Kukken, who was familiar with the tea ceremony, wrote letters to fellow monks and invited everyone to enjoy tea.
