Native Village Experience and Waterfall Adventure

Duration

clock3 days

Overview

We’ll drive 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur to a traditional Semai village, where we’ll stay in huts built by our native friends.

Guided by some local experts, we'll learn to weave accessories used for the Semai’s spiritual dances, practice shooting the traditional Semai hunting blowpipe and swim in a nearby river, just like the local do. Our meals will be a feast of indigenous dishes to be had in one of their homes.

On day two, we'll start early to hike into the deeper parts of the forests, using logging roads to get to a waterfall so secluded that even some of the villagers haven't been to. We'll spend half a day here swimming and eating our packed lunch surrounded by an almost untouched piece of the forests. During the night, we'll do a short night walk around the outskirts of the village.

Day three, we’ll hike one to two hours into the rainforest to search for the Rafflesia flower, one of the largest on earth.
