Join award winning mosaic artist Cathleen Newsham for this 6 hour comprehensive tour of 8 stunning subway mosaics that are off the beaten track in Brooklyn and Queens.
Cathleen has taken thousands of photographs of these amazing works and lead many artists, students and enthusiasts through the vast NYC transportation network to view these under-appreciated works of art. As a professional mosaic artist she will be explaining the process of how the mosaics were designed, fabricated and installed, giving insight into the complex process of creating a smalti mosaic mural.
We will be taking a lunch break at the famous Jr's Restaurant in Brooklyn, home of the award winning cheesecake. (You will be responsible for paying for your lunch.)
